Central Catholic Inducts 32 New Members into National Honor Society

On Tuesday, 32 new members were inducted into Central Catholic High School’s Raymond G. Kirsch Chapter of the National Honor Society in Krompak Hall.  Sophomores and juniors become candidates for the National Honor Society by attaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or higher.  The faculty then votes on membership according to four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

“Being a member of our chapter of the NHS is an earned honor,” explained NHS co-moderator Katie Shanahan.  “While GPA is an important piece of the NHS, there is quite a bit more to it.  The pillars of NHS include scholarship, character, leadership, and service.  When inducted, our members make a commitment to our school and to this organization.  The NHS will influence their decision-making during their time at CCHS, and hopefully beyond.  National Honor Society membership ensures that they will learn accountability, responsibility, and integrity.”

“It is a high honor to be accepted as a member into the National Honor Society, because there is a real responsibility that comes with membership,” added CCHS Principal Morgan Delp.  “Members must be dedicated to organization commitments, active participation in service and tutoring, and academic excellence in every classroom.  I count on our NHS students to be role models and leaders in the school.”

Congratulations to our new members!!!
