Women’s History Month Q&A with Brittley Grodi, ‘07

Brittley Grodi is in her first year as Assistant Director of Enrollment at her alma mater. A 2007 graduate, Brittley meets with 8th-grade students around the Toledo area and introduces them and their families to Central Catholic High School. A highlight for Brittley is getting the opportunity to share the CCHS experience with students. During her time as a student at CCHS, Brittley was a four-year member of the cheerleading team. After graduation, Brittley attended Monroe County Community College and The University of Toledo, earning a bachelor’s degree in graphic design in 2011. She returned to CCHS in 2016 and worked four years in the main office before assuming her current role.

What advice would you give to women in your respective field?
I would tell women to project confidence in all that they do. I’d also mention to be open to growth and opportunities that are presented to them.

Tell us about a woman you look up to & why.
Most recently, I have been inspired by Vice President Kamala Harris. Kamala made history with respect to a woman's place, as she holds the second-highest political office in the United States. Thanks to her, no longer is the idea of a woman serving as Vice President simply an idea. Having a woman of Jamaican and Indian heritage in the White House serving as the Vice President is truly inspiring to not only me, but to generations of women and young girls.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?
Women’s History Month is about honoring and celebrating the strong, empowering, and trailblazing women. During this Women’s History Month, it is important to bring light to the hard work and accomplishments of those leaders. The hard work of women all around shapes and influences us in our daily lives. We should take this opportunity to respect their accomplishments, work hard to honor their legacies, and strive to make women equal.

What do you love about Central Catholic High School?
Central Catholic is such a special and unique place. My amazing experience at CCHS as a student is what brought me back as an adult. It is much more than a "job." It is truly a second home to me. What do I love most about Central Catholic is our students!!! Day-in and day-out our students come to school and really show their leadership and ability to persevere in unprecedented times. They are strong, kind and eager to motivate each other. The energy our students bring to our building is indescribable.
