Nine Fighting Irish Garner All-Ohio Accolades
Nine members of the Central Catholic football team earned All-Ohio Division II accolades, the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association announced on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish’s nine honorees are the most by any school in Northwest Ohio in Divisions II-VII.
Three Fighting Irish made first-team All-Ohio. They were senior WR Sam Lee, senior LB Chris Jackson and senior DB Peyton Reasonover. Lee finished with a team-high 53 catches for 1,178 yards and 17 TDs, Jackson recorded a squad-best 93 total tackles, including 14 tackles-for-loss, and had four sacks, while Reasonover recorded 28 stops, to go along with a team-best six interceptions and 10 pass break-ups.
In addition, senior DL Dylan Fisher garnered second-team honors, senior OL Brent Rombach collected third-team recognition and the quartet of junior RB Chris Edmonds, senior OL Mar’Tieon Adams, junior DL Tyler Jackson and senior P Cole Tishler received honorable mention laurels.
CCHS finished with an 11-3 overall record this fall, including a perfect 7-0 ledger in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC). The Scarlet & Gray captured its fourth-consecutive TRAC championship and advanced to the Region 6 Finals of the OHSAA Division II State Playoffs.
