Boys’ Basketball Runs Away From Southview in Division III District Finals, 81-46

The Central Catholic boys' basketball team registered an 81-46 victory against Sylvania Southview on Friday in the Division III District Finals at Lake High School.  With the impressive neutral-court triumph, CCHS improves to 13-10 on the season.

The No. 1 seed Fighting Irish put 4 players in double figures against the No. 2 seed Cougars (20-5), helping them secure their 4th district championship in the last 5 years.

Sophomore Cayden Kynard paced the Scarlet & Gray with a season-high 21 points.

Classmate Isaiah Mack-Russell added 14 points, followed closely by junior Draden Wardrop and junior Manny Johnson with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Cougars were led by Jaron Witcher with 17 points.  Their next highest scorer was Jackson Pollock with 8 points.

Central Catholic will return to the court against Lima Shawnee in a D-III Regional Semifinals on Wednesday, March 5, at 8 p.m. in Savage Arena on the campus of the University of Toledo.
