Girls’ Basketball Comes From Behind to Defeat Start, 43-38

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team posted a 43-38 come-from-behind victory against Start on Monday at the Roy C. Start High School Main Gym. With the non-conference triumph, the Fighting Irish improve to 4-0 on the year.

CCHS outscored the Spartans 16-7 in the final quarter to remain unbeaten on the young season.

Sophomore Brooklyn Vaughn led the Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 16 points, followed closely by junior Mary Ellis with 14. 

Tamyah Worthy paced Start (3-1) with 15 points and Sinai Douglas added 14.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity basketball team registered an impressive 33-8 win versus Start.

Central Catholic will return to action against Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) opponent Fremont Ross on Thursday, Dec. 9. The opening tip versus the Little Giants is slated for 7:30 pm at Fremont Ross High School.
