Central Catholic Names New Boys’ Soccer Head Coach

Central Catholic High School welcomes Ross France as its new boys’ soccer head coach.

France previously served as head varsity coach at Maumee Valley Country Day School from 2011 through 2019.  He led the team to two state rankings and three NWOHSSL Division I titles, and he was named Coach of the Year three times.

Coach France has over 20 years of experience coaching club soccer with the Toledo Celtics Soccer Club, Greater Toledo Futbol Club, Maumee Express, and Pacesetter.  He was voted Ohio Club Coach of the Year in 1998.

He also served as the girls’ varsity soccer coach and the boys’ varsity soccer coach at Springfield High school, his alma mater.

Coach France takes over a Fighting Irish program that went 13-5-1 last season and won the Division II district championship in 2018 and 2019.

“We are excited to have Ross France become the head boys’ soccer coach at Central Catholic,” CCHS Athletic Director, Greg Dempsey, said.  “Ross is a renowned coach in the Northwest Ohio soccer community.  His successful coaching experience will help lead Central Catholic soccer to the next level.”

“I am very excited and proud to join such a historic high school in the Toledo area,” said Coach France.  “I would like to build on the program’s recent success, and I look forward to coaching in one of the best leagues in the state.”
