Central Catholic Presents SGO Lunch & Learn Event for Alumni & Friends in Late October
Central Catholic High School will present a Lunch & Learn event on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Kress Family Library on main campus, or via Zoom. Attendees will learn about a new Ohio tax credit scholarship program to help Central Catholic families with additional tuition assistance.
Annie (McCarthy) Voutsos (Class of 2009) is our presenter for the LIVE event. Annie is a CPA, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and a member of Central Catholic’s Academic Committee and Board of Directors. Ann Riddle, Director of Pdrovider Outreach for School Choice Ohio, is our SGO expert who will join us via Zoom.
In 2021, the Ohio General Assembly established a program that allows state taxpayers to receive a 100% tax credit against Ohio income tax liability for contributions made to a certified Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). An SGO is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that receives contributions from donors and grants educational scholarships to eligible students in the State of Ohio. The maximum tax credit amount is $750 per individual or $1,500 if married and filing jointly.
CCHS has partnered with an official Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) called Every Child Every Family. “I’m excited to share information with the Lunch and Learn audience at Central Catholic about the benefits of the Every Child Every Family SGO,” said Ann Riddle. “Scholarship Granting Organizations benefit students, the school, and the people that support them. It’s a win for all!”
“Scholarship Granting Organizations offer friends of CCHS a compelling opportunity to give back to an institution that means so much to so many people,” said Annie Voutsos. “I look forward to the Lunch and Learn to increase awareness of the program within the Fighting Irish community.”
“This is a unique opportunity for alumni and friends to learn about a creative way to support CCHS by using your tax dollars to help the next generation,” added Eric Stockard, Central Catholic’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “You will learn more about the historical process of this opportunity, how it came about in the State of Ohio, and see how your tax dollars can benefit every student at Central Catholic.”
