This version of Cinderella is based on Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical that was produced for television and theater.  In this version, Ella becomes a more assertive young woman and helps the Prince to become a much stronger and compassionate King.

Vocal director, Karin Giffin, came out of retirement to teach choir and piano at Central Catholic after a 37-year career, mostly at Bowsher High School.  She is a graduate of the University of Toledo and has her master’s degree from BGSU.  This is her 16th musical production, and she would like to thank all of the students and families that have made Cinderella possible.  “It is great fun to be with such a talented cast!” she said.

This is Patrick Flanagan’s first directing project at Central Catholic; however, this is not his first directing effort.  He directed, produced, and served as technical director/production manager in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years.  Most recently, he was the head of the theater program and directed seven musicals at Cardinal Stritch.  Mr. Flanagan holds a B.A. in theater from the University of Toledo and an M.F.A. from the University of California at Irvine.

Senior Cassidy Anderson plays the role of Cinderella, called Ella in this production, and junior Wylie Fournier plays Topher, the young prince.  “Even before I came to Central Catholic, I remember watching their impressive musicals as a kid, and knew I would love to be a part of them someday,” said Anderson.  “I'm so excited and honored to be playing the part of Cinderella, and I'm so thankful that this opportunity came my way!  When you see our show, you'll be able to tell how much our cast cares about this production.  We have a lot of talent and everyone is ready to have fun and make this the best show it can possibly be!”

“I’ve loved acting since I was little,” Fournier said.  “I’ve grown up watching my sister Eve act in the Central Catholic musicals and I just knew I had to as well.  I feel humbled to have this role and so lucky to have amazing friends to act and laugh with.  You should come see the show because we have amazing vocals and the stepsisters are hilarious!”

Please join us for this amazing tradition showcasing our talented Central Catholic students!
