Five Girls’ Basketball Players Collect All-Northwest Ohio District Division II Accolades

Five members of the Central Catholic girls’ basketball team have been named to the All-Northwest Ohio District Division II squad. CCHS’s five honorees tied for the most by any school.

The all-district teams were selected by a 10-member media panel representing the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

Highlighting the Fighting Irish’s selections was senior Brinn Hunt, who secured first-team recognition. Earlier this year, Hunt was tabbed the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) Player of the Year and first-team All-District VII and first-team All-BCSN.

Sophomore Brooklyn Vaughn garnered second-team honors, while junior Mary Ellis, sophomore Corniya Clay and sophomore Emily Baer each received honorable mention accolades.

CCHS finished with a 24-2 overall record this winter, including a perfect 14-0 ledger in the TRAC. The Scarlet & Gray captured its first outright conference championship and advanced to the regional semifinal of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.
