Grils’ Basketball Loses at Bowsher in Non-League Contest, 45-37

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team dropped a 45-37 decision against Bowsher on Thursday in non-conference action.  With the loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 0-4 on the season.

The host Blue Racers jumped out to an early 17-11 lead vs. the Scarlet & Gray after the opening quarter on the strength of 8 points from Kelaysia Harris.

Junior Nina Stevens paced CCHS with 9 points, followed closely by junior Marissa Justen and freshman Maeley Bragg with 8 points each.

Aliyah Osei led the Blue Racers with a game-high 16 points, while Harris contributed 11 points in the home victory.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity team toppled Bowsher, 42-15.  

The Fighting Irish will return to the court against Lumen Christi this evening for a Catholic High School League (CHSL) matchup at 5:30 p.m. on the road.
