Science Teacher Chosen as Classroom Hero

Central Catholic science teacher Patrice Brock was chosen as the BCSN/BCAN Classroom Hero for the month of December!  Patrice has adapted her science classrooms to meet the needs of her students and their safety in the midst of a pandemic.  She has worked extra hard to keep her expectations and support of students at an all-time high, while thinking creatively about how to promote hands-on learning in a hands-off world.

Patrice has created individual lab kits for her ecology students.  She has provided her anatomy and physiology students with individual white boards to practice diagramming, since group clustering at the board is impossible.  She has her AP biology students diagram cells with sidewalk chalk outside - another safe, spread out activity.  Patrice works tirelessly to motivate her students by creating a serious and competitive classroom environment.  We are grateful for Patrice's dedication to our students in a challenging time.  She is truly a classroom hero!

Patrice was awarded a check for $300, and she will be featured on BCSN and BCAN during the month of December.
