Central Catholic to Participate in SewHope Fundraiser to Combat Hunger

Central Catholic will be working with an organization called SewHope to help raise money to purchase meals for families in Guatemala, and for families that receive food through the SeaGate Food Bank in Toledo.  This will involve both fundraising and an opportunity to volunteer.

The fundraising portion will run from Tuesday-Friday, Nov. 2-12 with donation canisters available in the lunchroom, main office, and room 211 for students, faculty, and staff to drop in their spare change or make a larger donation.  Just 35 cents can buy a meal, so imagine how many meals we can buy for those in need!

The school wide goal for this fundraiser is $3,000.  We have 11 volunteers who have committed to taking A PIE IN THE FACE if we reach our goal!

The second part of Central Catholic’s project with the SewHope organization is to volunteer on Saturday, Nov. 13 at St. John's Jesuit High School from 8 a.m.-Noon.  We will be working in an assembly line with a goal of packing 100,000 meals.  There are two time slots for volunteers, and students can earn service hours for participating.
