Softball Picked to Finish 4th in TRAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Blade recently released its annual Three Rivers Athletic Conference softball preseason poll and Central Catholic has been picked to finish 4th, according to voting from the league’s 8 head coaches.

The Fighting Irish received 35 points, trailing 4-time reigning TRAC champion Whitmer, St. Ursula, and Clay. The Panthers collected 5 of 8 1st-place votes and totaled 59 points to stand atop the standings in the TRAC’s final season.

Findlay was projected to finish 5th, followed by Notre Dame Academy, Fremont Ross, and Lima Senior.

A season ago, the Fighting Irish posted a 11-13 overall record, 8-6 in the league under Head Coach Ashley Sujkowski-Davis.

Individually, Central Catholic returns 5 All-TRAC honorees from last spring, including 1st-team selection sophomore RHP/INF Addy Brinkman, 2nd-team recipient sophomore RHP/INF Ella Schuberg, and honorable mention members senior C Aliciana Martinez, junior OF Angelina Martinez, and junior OF Kelly Kitz.

CCHS is currently 5-2 overall this spring, including 1-1 in the conference.
