Student Helps Medical Workers
Central Catholic sophomore Clare Logan is working with her neighborhood group, the Westmoreland Mask Makers, to sew mask covers and headbands for front line workers who need them. Her goal is to complete 10 each day.
The mask covers are delivered to Clare pre-cut and pinned, and ready for her to sew on straps or elastic and do the final stitching. The headbands have buttons to hold the elastic to help preserve the ears of the workers who have to wear masks for 10-12 hour (or longer) shifts. The headbands are being made from T-shirts that say “Toledo Strong.”
Clare’s sister, Katharine, is also helping in the effort. They are happy to be able to collaborate with the 15-20 others in the group and utilize their God-given talents to support this effort.
The items are being donated to Promedica, Hospice, and Bay Park, our local COVID-19 designated hospital.
