Noah Langford Selected Inaugural Student of the Month for January

Senior Noah Langford has a 3.5 grade-point average and has been on the CCHS Honor Roll every quarter of his high school career.  He plays point guard and shooting guard for the Fighting Irish varsity basketball team, works as a student ambassador, and is a member of Sideline Spirit.  He has also worked as a mentor to youth at the CCHS summer basketball program.  He is undecided about which college he will attend, but he plans to major in graphic design/digital media design.

“In the time I’ve known him, Noah's demeanor and actions have been an example to others both in and out of the classroom,” said computer science and technology teacher Abbey Stone.  “He demonstrates creativity through his projects and often pushes himself further than the rubric requires.  Our school is better with him here, and it's been a blessing to teach him these last two years.”

At the 31st-Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast on January 14, Noah received the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship award presented by the Alpha Xi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. for academic excellence and community involvement.  Dr. King was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, and each year the fraternity gives out scholarships to young men who are pursuing higher education.

At the breakfast, Noah said he is guided by these words: “Don’t be afraid to fail.  Failure is a part of success.  So fail often, but fail forward.”

Added boys’ basketball head coach Mike Floyd, "Noah is a great student, person, and athlete. He embodies everything that is great about Central Catholic. Noah has really taken a leadership role as a senior both on and off the court, and I couldn't be prouder of him. I look forward to watching the many great things that Noah will do once he graduates."
