After the Bell with CCHS Staffulty Member & Alumna Kylee Stewart, ‘18

Have you ever wondered what teachers and school staff do when they are not at school?  We decided to find out!

This is the 4th in a series of stories about some of Central Catholic’s faculty and staff members and what they like to do after the bell rings at the end of the day.  Some have surprising hobbies, others have creative talents.  With this series, we hope to shine a spotlight on the special people who work with our students every day!

Zooming In

What started out as a way to help some of her students has turned into an enjoyable side gig for biology teacher, Kylee Stewart.  Kylee is a 2018 CCHS graduate, and she has been teaching at her alma mater for 3 years. She is also the girls' lacrosse assistant coach.

Kylee wanted to help some of the seniors at Central Catholic who were interested in having their senior pictures taken, but who couldn’t afford to go with more expensive options.  She offered to take their senior pictures at a reduced cost.  She is a self-taught photographer, and she has been taking photographs for over a year now.  “I watch videos, have spoken with other photographers, and have just gone through a lot of trial and error to figure out the proper settings and how to edit,” she explained.

Kylee now takes all types of photographs, including sports photography, family photos, senior portraits, events, and more.  “I love doing it all!” she said.  “Sports are so much fun to shoot because of the energy of being near the field or court.  Family and senior sessions are very calm, and it's just so much fun to capture those moments.  I know how much family photos can mean to a family and how special senior pictures are, so it's amazing to be a part of those moments.”

Kylee has also taken pictures for some local fundraisers, such as Base Hits for Colton and the Children's Theatre Workshop.  She has done many portraits for CCHS seniors, and sessions for families and friends.  She primarily posts on an Instagram page called 419Photos.

Anyone who is interested in booking Kylee for a photography session can visit her website (419photos.mypixieset.com) or email her directly at 419photosks@gmail.com.
