Get to Know CCHS Teacher - Nathan Rawlins

What subjects and grade levels do you teach at Central Catholic?
I teach sophomore Theology.

Where did you teach before coming to CCHS?
Before teaching at CCHS, I taught computers at St. Joe's Maumee while also maintaining the library.  Following one year of working at St. Joe's,  I took an adjunct position at Northwest State Community College instructing the Humanities.  I regularly teach summer Theology Courses at Lourdes University.  I also worked as a Technology Coordinator at St. Rose in Perrysburg.  My passion is Theology and for the last two school years I was blessed to teach religion at St. Joan of Arc in Toledo.

What is your educational background?
I went to OLPH for most of my elementary education.  I graduated from Byrndale Jr. High and E.L. Bowsher High School in Toledo.  I have an associate degree in the Liberal Arts from Owens Community College, a bachelor's degree in Theological Studies, and a master’s degree in Theology from Lourdes University.

What inspired you to become a teacher?
My 7th grade history teacher inspired me to be a teacher, and I cannot picture myself doing anything else.

What made you want to become a teacher at Central Catholic?
Teaching Theology at Central Catholic and Lourdes University was my driving force in completing a graduate degree.  Central Catholic is the greatest school I have ever encountered and it is an honor to teach here!
