2 Baseball Players Receive All-CHSL Recognition

Two members of the Central Catholic baseball team received All-CHSL accolades, the Catholic High School League recently announced.

Sophomore Preston Fryzel was named to the All-League team, while senior Josh Floyd was tabbed to the All-Academic squad.

Fryzel batted .373 (25-of-67) with 15 runs scored, 1 home run, 17 RBI, and 7 stolen bases during the spring.  He also tallied a 2-3 mark with a 2.68 ERA on the mound, giving up 17 runs (13 earned runs) on 27 hits with 31 strikeouts in 34.0 innings.

Floyd, who is earning academic all-league recognition for the 2nd-straight year, hit .246 (16-of-65) with 5 runs scored, 10 RBI, and 6 thefts.  He also registered a 1-0 ledger with a 3.77 ERA on the hill, allowing 15 runs (7 earned) on 10 hits with 12 punchouts in 13.0 frames.

On the diamond, Central Catholic posted an 8-17 overall record in 2024, including a 1-9 ledger in the CHSL.
