5 Boys’ Basketball Hoopsters Garner All-TRAC Accolades

Five members of the state ranked Central Catholic boys’ basketball team have been selected to the All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference Team. Ranked No. 6 in the final Associated Press D-II state poll, CCHS’s 5 selections are the most in the league. In addition, Head Coach Mike Floyd was named the TRAC Coach of the Year.

The Fighting Irish (18-4) posted an 11-3 mark in the final season of the TRAC, capturing a share of the conference championship with Whitmer (14-8, 11-3 TRAC).

Highlighting the Scarlet & Gray’s honorees was junior Isaiah Brenneman, who was picked to the 1st-team.

Senior Michael Greenlee Jr. and sophomore Makhi Leach garnered 2nd-team recognition, while senior Ty’Waun Clark and senior Noah Langford collected honorable mention laurels.

A honorable mention All-TRAC recipient a season ago, Greenlee is the lone member of Central Catholic to earn all-league status for the 2nd-straight year.

Selected as the No. 1 seed in the Division II sectional tourney draw for the Millbury District, Central Catholic will play the winner of Otsego-Rogers on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 pm at Bowsher High School. Tournament play begins on Wednesday, Feb. 22, with the district finals slated for Saturday, March 1 at Lake High School.

CCHS is the district’s top seed for the 2nd-straight year. A season ago, they captured their 2nd-straight district title.
