Alumna Hailey O’Mara Joins Central Catholic Marketing/Communications & Teaching Staff

2019 Central Catholic graduate Hailey O’Mara recently joined the Central Catholic marketing/communications department as a graphic designer.  She will also teach the yearbook class when the school year begins in August, and add a graphic design class during the spring semester.

During her time at Central Catholic, Hailey ran cross country and played softball all four years.  She was also the class council secretary, and a member of the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society.

Hailey went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Xavier University in three years.  She played on the Xavier women’s squash team, and she was a member of the running club and the Xavier Art Society.  She also worked in social media and graphic design as the creative lead for Xavier’s student Instagram account.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude this past May, having made the Dean’s List each semester.  She was also awarded an art scholarship, based on talent and dedication, in addition to her initial academic scholarship.

As the graphic designer at Central Catholic, Hailey creates marketing materials for the school and helps promote activities and events related to our students, staff, and community.

“Graphic design is something that I fell in love with while attending Central Catholic,” Hailey said.  “I have always been an artist but wanted to use my skills in the digital/business world.  I feel that graphic design is such a great field.  It really is everywhere you look!  Everything needs to be designed by someone, which is why I love this career path.  I saw this position posted and knew I had to apply.  Being able to come back to one of my favorite places is such an honor.  I knew that I would be well-adjusted to this position, as I am not too far-removed from graduating from CCHS!”

Hailey is looking forward to meeting and engaging with students when she begins teaching in August.  “I want to share what I’ve learned as a designer with my students, help them become great designers, and guide them in building a beautiful yearbook,” she explained.  “I had no idea I would ever become a teacher, but I’m so excited about growing my career here.  I’m also having a great time helping Coach Turner with the cross country team!”
