Baseball Duo Garner PBR Ohio All-State Team Accolades

Central Catholic baseball players Jaxon Sanchez and Cody Markus collected All-Ohio Division II recognition on Wednesday, according to the Prep Baseball Report. Sanchez was selected 2nd-team All-Ohio, while Markus was tabbed honorable mention all-state.

A junior infielder, Sanchez hit a TRAC-best .460 (29-for-63) with 29 runs scored, 2 home runs, 12 RBI, and 5 stolen bases this past spring.

A senior pitcher, Markus tallied a 3-1 record with a squad-best 0.84 ERA in 25.0 innings on the mound. He allowed only 3 runs (all earned) on 14 hits with a team-high 45 strikeouts. 

Sanchez and Markus played integral roles in the Fighting Irish posting a 14-12 overall record and a 7-7 ledger in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference’s final season. The Scarlet & Gray advanced to the District Final for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons.
