Boys’ Basketball Demolishes Waite in Season Opener, 77-29

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team commenced its 2021-22 season with a dominating 77-29 victory against Lima Senior on Tuesday in the Sullivan Center. With the impressive non-conference triumph, the Fighting Irish improve to 1-0 overall.

Sophomore Isaiah Brenneman paced the Fighting Irish with 15 points, while freshman Makhi Leach had 10 in his Scarlet & Gray debut. Junior Chico Johnson added nine points, and seniors Micah Thames and Sam Lee each contributed eight for the victorious home team.

Taylor Jones led the Indians with eight points. 

CCHS will return to the hardwood against Oregon Clay on Friday, Dec. 3 in its Three Rivers Conference opener. The opening tip versus the Eagles is slated for 7:30 pm in the Clay HS Potter Field House.
