Boys’ Basketball Tabbed to Finish Second in TRAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll
The Blade released its annual Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys' basketball preseason poll on Wednesday and Central Catholic has been picked to finish second, according to voting from the league's eight head coaches.
The Fighting Irish received two first-place votes and 47 points, trailing only three-time reigning champion Lima Senior. The Spartans received five of seven first-place votes and collected 51 of a possible 56 voting points to finish first in the poll.
Findlay was third at 39 points, and Whitmer was fourth at 36. St. John's was fifth, Fremont Ross and St. Francis de Sales tied for sixth, and Clay rounded out the poll voting.
A season ago, the Spartans, Titans and Trojans shared the TRAC crown.
CCHS opened its 2021-22 season with an emphatic 77-29 home triumph against Waite on Tuesday. The Scarlet & Gray will return to the hardwood at Clay on Friday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 pm in its TRAC opener.
