Girls’ Basketball Picked to Finish First in TRAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Blade recently released its annual Three Rivers Athletic Conference girls' basketball preseason poll and Central Catholic has been picked to finish first, according to voting from the league's eight head coaches.

The Fighting Irish received four of the eight first-place votes and 57 points, one more than Notre Dame (56), which picked up two first-place tallies in the preseason poll.

Fremont Ross received the other two first-place votes and was third in the poll with 54 votes. Findlay (36 points) was picked fourth, followed by St. Ursula, Whitmer, Lima Senior and Clay.

A season ago, NDA captured their 10th-straight TRAC crown.

CCHS is currently 2-0 on the season, registering wins against Perkins, 48-38, on Nov. 20 and most recently Lima Senior, 67-18, on Monday. Sophomore Emily Baer is averaging a team-high 14.0 ppg, followed closely by senior Brinn Hunt at 12.5 ppg.

The Scarlet & Gray will return to the hardwood against Findlay this evening at 7:30 pm in the Sullivan Center. Tickets are available online at www.centralcatholic.org/tickets or www.hometownticketing.com.
