Boys’ Basketball Drops 48-45 Decision vs. De La Salle Collegiate on Senior Night at Home

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team dropped a 48-45 decision vs. De La Salle Collegiate on Tuesday in the Sullivan Center. With the 1-possession loss on “Senior Night,” CCHS falls to 6-13 overall, 0-9 in the Catholic High School League.

In a back-and-forth matchup, the Fighting Irish were outscored 18-13 in the 3rd quarter vs. the Pilots to suffer their 6th loss in 7 games decided by 5 points or less.

Freshman Isaiah Mack-Russell paced CCHS with 17 points, while sophomore Manny Johnson finished with 11 points.  Senior Isaiah Brenneman also contributed 8 points in Tuesday’s league contest.

Phoenix Glassnor led De La Salle Collegiate (11-6, 5-6 CHSL) with a game-high 22 points, followed by Armoni Portis with 13 points.

Central Catholic will return to the court against St. Mary’s Preparatory on Saturday, February 10 in the quarterfinals of the CHSL Tournament at 11 a.m. at Marian High School. Back on January 26, CCHS dropped a 71-47 decision vs. the Eaglets in the Dombrowski Fieldhouse.
