Swimming & Diving Hitting Stride During Homestretch of 2023-24 Campaign

The Central Catholic swimming & diving team is gearing up for a strong finish to its 2023-24 season. The Fighting Irish are hitting their stride at the right time as the postseason quickly approaches.   

At the Toledo Invite on January 25, 7 CCHS swimmer recorded personal best times at the UToledo Recreation Center.

- Junior Addison Brinkman: 50 freestyle
- Freshman Graham Brinkman: 200 freestyle
- Junior Alex Cherry: 100 freestyle
- Freshman Thomas DeBruyne: 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle 
- Sophomore Katie Dittman: 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle
- Sophomore Joel Drees: 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle
- Sophomore Anna Preston: 50 freestyle

1 week later at the BGSU Invite on February 1, 2 additional swimmers posted personal best times at the BGSU Student Recreation Center, while another student-athlete eclipsed their top mark from the previous week.

- Junior Addison Winkler: 100 breaststroke 
- Junior Jordan Traver: 100 freestyle
- Thomas DeBruyne: 100 freestyle

And most recently at Saturday’s Polar Bear Classic at Margaretta High School, Addison Winkler secured 3rd place in the 500 freestyle and a trio of swimmers registered top times

- Addison Brinkman: 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke
- Graham Brinkman: 100 backstroke
- Addison Winkler: 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle

The Fighting Irish will return to the pool for the Division II Sectional Meet on Saturday, February 10 at Ayersville High School.
