Boys’ Basketball Falls in Overtime vs. Cincinnati Princeton at Coach Q Classic, 73-72

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team ended up on the short end of a 73-72 decision vs. Cincinnati Princeton in overtime on Sunday at the Coach Q Classic. With the 1-point setback on the campus of Lima Senior High School, the Fighting Irish fall to 1-2 on the season. 

Sophomore Manny Johnson paced the Scarlet & Gray with a season-high 20 points, followed closely by classmate Draden Wardrop with 18 points.

CCHS also received 11 points from freshman Isaiah Mack-Russell and 10 points by sophomore Sharard Vaughn III in the neutral-site matchup.

Rognny Santiago Lugo had a game-high 31 points to lead the Vikings (3-2), while Brenden Braddix scored 26 points.

Earlier in the day, the CCHS junior varsity team suffered a 59-21 setback vs Princeton. 

CCHS will return to the court against Solon on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. The non-conference game against the Comets can be heard on 100.7 FM (ESPN The Ticket) with the “Voice of the Irish” Bill Clark, starting at 5:30 p.m.
