Boys’ Basketball Handles Fremont Ross on Road, 71-59
The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team registered a 71-59 victory against Fremont Ross on Tuesday in “The Purple Pit.” With the win, CCHS improves to 7-1 overall, 3-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.
Senior Michael Greenlee Jr. and junior Isaiah Brenneman each tallied 18 points to pace the victorious Fighting Irish.
Sophomore Makhi Leach also contributed 10 points in the double-digit road triumph, helping the Scarlet & Gray stretch its winning streak to 7-straight games.
Ayden Carter led the Little Giants (4-5, 1-3 TRAC) with a game-high 24 points, while Anthony Vann and Carter Rodriguez each had 11.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team defeated Fremont Ross, 38-26, while the junior varsity squad claimed a 60-56 road win.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against 4-time reigning TRAC champion Lima Senior on Friday, Jan. 6. The opening tip vs. the Spartans is slated for 7:30 pm in the Sullivan Center. Tickets for Friday’s matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at CentralCatholic.org/tickets.
