Girls’ Basketball Extends Winning Streak with Road Victory Against Margaretta, 51-36
The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team registered a 51-36 win against Margaretta on Tuesday in the Margaretta HS Gym. With the non-conference victory, CCHS improves to 9-1 on the season.
Senior Jai’Lynne Hitt-Swartz paced the Fighting Irish with 13 points, helping them extend their winning streak to 8-consecutive games.
Junior Brooklyn Vaughn added 11 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. The 2021-22 1st-team All-TRAC honoree has now scored in double figures in every contest this winter.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team lost to the Polar Bears, 27-25, while the junior varsity squad suffered a 47-36 road setback.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against TRAC-rival Notre Dame on Thursday, Jan. 5. The opening tip versus the Eagles is scheduled for 7:30 pm in the LaValley Gymnasium. Tickets for Thursday’s matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at bit.ly/3VG0gEk.
