Boys’ Basketball Pulls Away in Second Half vs. St. Francis de Sales, 51-43

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team utilized a strong third quarter en route to posting a 51-43 victory against St. Francis de Sales on Friday in “The Pit.” With the road triumph, CCHS improves to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

The Fighting Irish outscored their arch-rival Knights (0-4, 0-2 TRAC) 10-3 in the pivotal third stanza to remain unbeaten on the season.

Junior Chico Johnson paced three Central Catholic players in double figure with a game-high 19 points, including 13 in the second half. Junior Kechan Johnson Jr. added a season-best 14 points and senior Sam Lee had 11.

Jamison Heck led St. Francis de Sales with 15 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team dropped a 42-36 decision vs. the Knights, while the junior varsity squad prevailed 44-33.

Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against rival St. John’s Jesuit on Friday, Dec. 17. The opening tip versus the Titans is slated for 7:30 pm in the Titan Dome.
