Boys’ Basketball Comes Up Short at St. Francis de Sales, 63-59

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team suffered a 63-59 loss against rival St. Francis de Sales on Friday in The Pit. With the road setback, the Fighting Irish fall to 4-7 overall, 0-3 in the Catholic High School League.

Freshman Isaiah Mack-Russell notched a season-high 29 points for the Scarlet & Gray.

Jamison Heck led the Knights (8-2, 2-1 CHSL) with 26 points, while Alan Horton added 11 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team lost 43-35 vs. SFDS, while the junior varsity squad was dealt a 54-49 road setback.

The Fighting Irish will return to action against Bowsher on Tuesday, Jan. 16 in a non-league matchup at 7:30 p.m.  A season ago, CCHS secured a 67-40 decision vs. the Blue Racers in the Sullivan Center on January 31.
