Boys’ Basketball Wallops Bowsher in Non-Conference Home Contest, 67-40

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team walloped Bowsher 67-40 on Tuesday in the Sullivan Center. With the emphatic non-conference victory, state-ranked CCHS improves to 14-3 overall.

CCHS outscored the Blue Racers 34-15 over the course of the 2nd and 3rd quarters to help the Scarlet & Gray record its 4th-consecutive triumph.

Senior Michael Greenlee Jr. led 4 Fighting Irish in double figures with a game-high 16 points. Junior Isaiah Brenneman and sophomore Makhi Leach each contributed 12 points, followed closely by senior Noah Langford with 11 points.

Dante Mays Jr. and Marcus Griffith paced Bowsher with 8 points.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team secured a 53-8 victory vs. the Blue Racers, while the junior varsity squad registered a 64-42 home win to remain undefeated.

Ranked No. 6 in this week’s Division II state poll, Central Catholic returns to the hardwood versus 4-time reigning TRAC champion Lima Senior on Friday, Feb. 3. The opening tip vs. the Spartans is scheduled for 7:30 pm in the Lima Senior Gymnasium. Tickets for Friday’s league matchup MUST be pre-purchased online at https://bit.ly/3HqYP7o.
