Central Catholic Blood & Toy Drive in Honor of Colton Stanley Scheduled for March 25

Central Catholic will hold a community blood drive and toy drive on Tuesday, March 25 from 8:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. in Krompak Hall.  The drive is in honor of Colton Stanley, the 5-year-old son of former Central Catholic teacher and head girls’ basketball coach, Corri Stanley (Class of 2003), who has been fighting T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma since July 2023.

Nearly 100 students, staff, CCHS family members, and community members are scheduled to donate blood throughout the day, and many others will be bringing toys.

“We are deeply grateful to the Central Catholic administration, athletic office, faculty and staff, students, and the entire Irish community for their continued support of Colton and our family,” said Corri Stanley.  “I have witnessed the Irish nation rise to the occasion time and time again in support of causes that truly matter.  I have every confidence that this year's blood drive will be yet another example of the unwavering spirit of a community that always rallies together in remarkable ways.

“The fact that CCHS believes in the importance of this day just as strongly as we do speak volumes about their commitment to giving back and providing their faculty, staff, and students with opportunities to make a difference.  The home of the Irish is such a special place!

“The Colton Strong Blood Drive is an incredibly meaningful day for our family, a day that demonstrates the power of selflessness and kindness, dedicated to making a truly lifesaving impact on others.  Colton's courageous journey with childhood cancer has included multiple blood transfusions, and we have personally witnessed the incredible resilience of his fellow fighters, who rely on blood and platelet donations to give them strength to continue their battles.  This drive is an incredible chance to make a lifesaving impact in the most selfless and powerful way.  We have an ambitious goal this year and need your support to make this year’s drive the most impactful one yet.”

New, unwrapped toys and gift cards will be donated to the Russell J. Ebeid Toledo Children’s Hospital pediatric oncology unit.
