Central Catholic Competes in CHSL Championship

The Central Catholic wrestling team competed in the Catholic High School League Championship on Saturday at Lumen Christi Catholic School.  CCHS finished in 5th place among 17 schools at the 1-day meet.

Highlighting the Fighting Irish’s efforts were 3rd-place finishes by junior Callen Osborne (120 pounds) and sophomore Andrei Irimia (175 pounds).

In addition, sophomore Alex Guerra (126 pounds) and freshman Devin Joyner (157 pounds) finished in 4th place, while sophomore Brendan Zapadka (106 pounds) placed 5th at the league tourney.

Central Catholic will return to the mat for the Catholic Cup vs. rivals St. John’s Jesuit and St. Francis de Sales on Thursday, February 6 at 5 p.m. at SJJ.
