Girls’ Basketball Defeats Ottawa-Glandorf on the Road, 49-33
The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team registered an impressive 49-33 victory against Ottawa-Glandorf on Saturday in the Robert J. Hermiller Gymnasium. With the double-digit road win, the Fighting Irish improve to 15-0 overall on the season.
Sophomore Corniya Clay paced the unbeaten Fighting Irish with 13 points, followed closely by junior Mary Ellis with 12.
Erin Kaufman led the Titans with a game-high 14 points.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity secured a 54-49 overtime triumph against Ottawa-Glandorf.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against Fremont Ross (13-3, 8-1 TRAC) on Monday, Jan. 24 in a battle for first place in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. The opening tip is slated for 6:30 pm in the Sullivan Center. Immediately following the girls’ basketball game, the CCHS boys’ basketball squad will host MaxPreps No. 7 nationally ranked Word of God Christian Academy of Raleigh at 8 pm.
