Boys’ Basketball Emerges Victorious at Elida, 59-37
The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team secured a 59-37 victory against Elida on Saturday in the Field House. With the double-digit road victory, CCHS improves to 13-2 overall on the season.
Junior Chico Johnson paced the fourth-ranked Fighting Irish with a game-high 16 points, while classmate Brian Bishop contributed 11 points.
David Etzkorn recorded 13 points to lead the Dawgs.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team registered a 45-24 triumph vs. Elida, while the junior varsity squad dropped a tough 31-30 decision in overtime.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against MaxPreps No. 7 nationally ranked Word of God Christian Academy of Raleigh on Monday in non-conference action. The opening tip is slated for 8 pm in the Sullivan Center. At 6:30 pm, the CCHS girls' basketball team (15-0, 9-0 TRAC) will take on Fremont Ross (13-3, 8-1 TRAC) in a battle for first place in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.
