Boys’ Basketball Garners No. 1 Seed in Division II Sectional Tourney Draw in Millbury District

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team has been selected as the No. 1 seed in the Division II sectional tourney draw in the Millbury District for the upcoming Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Tournament.

The Fighting Irish, ranked No. 3 in the latest Associated Press Division II state poll, will play the winner of Fostoria-Scott on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 pm at Bowsher High School.

Tournament play begins on Tuesday, Feb. 22, with the district finals slated for Saturday, March 5 at Lake High School.

Last week, the CCHS girls’ basketball team was also tabbed as the No. 1 seed in the Paulding District.

Head Coach Mike Floyd and Central Catholic (16-3, 8-3 TRAC) return to the hardwood against TRAC rival Lima Senior on Friday, Feb. 11. Freshman will begin the action versus the Spartans at 4:45 pm in the Sullivan Center, followed by the junior varsity and varsity at 6 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively. Back on Jan. 7, the Fighting Irish dropped a 70-56 decision at Lima Senior. Tickets are available at CentralCatholic.org/tickets.
