Central Catholic High School … Home of Champions!!!

Central Catholic High School’s athletic programs have a history of excellence.  Throughout our 103 years, CCHS male and female student-athletes have faced strong competition and have brought home league, division, regional, and state championships.

The past school year has been no exception, as the Fighting Irish have won 7 state championships and 3 Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) titles.  Individually, 15 student-athletes have been selected All-Ohio in various sports.

Along with their high level of athletic performance, Central Catholic’s student-athletes are successful in the classroom.  Throughout the 2022-23 school year, 178 student-athletes were named Academic All-TRAC, an honor for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are letterwinners with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Many Fighting Irish student-athletes will continue their athletic careers at Division I, II, and III colleges and universities.  This past year, 22 student-athletes from the Class of 2023 have signed letters of intent for football, basketball, baseball, track & field, soccer, volleyball, and dance.

“The success of our athletic teams this year starts in the classroom,” said CCHS Head of School, Kevin Parkins.  “These young women and men work hard in the classroom, court or field, and develop lifelong skills through their participation in extracurricular activities.  Central Catholic is proud of how they carry themselves in the community, classroom, and beyond.  We remain committed to having the best athletic programs in Northwest Ohio, as lessons in teamwork, sacrifice, and determination will be with them for life!”
