Central Catholic Inducts 45 New Members into National Honor Society

A total of 45 new members were inducted into Central Catholic High School’s Raymond G. Kirsch Chapter of the National Honor Society on Thursday in the Sullivan Center.  Sophomores and juniors are candidates for the National Honor Society by attaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher.  The faculty then vote on membership according to four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

“Being a member of our Reverend Raymond G. Kirsch chapter of NHS is not a given, just because you obtain a certain GPA,” explained Kim Bremer, NHS moderator. “Our members make a commitment to the organization, which in turn is a commitment to our school and the community at large.  They learn about responsibility, accountability, consequences, and giving back.  In addition to our four pillars, our members must exhibit integrity throughout all they do inside our building as well as in the community.  I believe it is an honor to be a part of this organization.”

“It is a high honor to be accepted as a member into the National Honor Society, because there is a real responsibility that comes with membership,” added Morgan Delp, CCHS Dean of Academics.  “Members must strive to exhibit leadership, service, character, and scholarship in all they do.  This means dedication to organization commitments, active participation in service and tutoring, and academic excellence in every classroom.  I count on our NHS students to be role models and leaders in the school.”

Congratulations to our new members!!!
