Central Catholic Places 4th at Boys’ Tennis TRAC Championship

The Central Catholic boys’ tennis team placed 4th at the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) Championship over the weekend at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club. The Fighting Irish accumulated 8 points over the course of Friday and Saturday, finishing just 2 points behind Findlay (10 pts.) for the 3rd spot.

Senior Noah Rife and sophomore Tyler Hegedus led the way for the Scarlet & Gray in singles competition, as both placed 4th at the No. 2 & 3 spots, respectively.

In doubles actions, the teams of junior Mark Mackowiak/junior Jack Dempsey and senior Cody Schuberg/junior Ben Bialorucki also finished 4th at the No. 1 & No. 2 spots, respectively.

St. Francis de Sales won the team title with 14 points, 2 more than 2nd-place finisher St. John’s Jesuit.

CCHSD returns to the courts against Rossford this afternoon on “Senior Day” at 4:30 pm at the Twos Athletic Club. The match was originally slated for last Tuesday, May 2 but was postponed due to inclement weather. The Fighting Irish will honor seniors Donovan Green, Evan Thompson, Rife, and Schuberg prior to the start of the match vs. the Bulldogs.
