This GivingTuesday, Central Catholic High School will inspire generosity by appealing to its alumni and friends to support current students and teachers. The school joins millions around the world participating in the event on November 28, 2023.
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on November 28 and throughout the year.
This year, Central Catholic is asking donors to give $50 or more on GivingTuesday in honor of the 50th anniversary of our Advent Pilgrimage.
The Advent Pilgrimage was started by the Central Catholic Class of 1974, who were seniors when the tradition began in December 1973, as a way to show our connection with the local neighborhood and the City of Toledo. The walk from CCHS to Rosary Cathedral for Mass has been a tradition for 50 years, and it expresses Central Catholic's commitment to our Catholic faith and local community.
Central Catholic invites alumni and friends to join current students and staff on our pilgrimage to celebrate Mass at the Cathedral on Tuesday, December 19. And we ask for your support on GivingTuesday in honor of this milestone.
To join Central Catholic’s GivingTuesday initiative, please follow these simple steps:
Go to www.centralcatholic.org on November 28 to make your GivingTuesday donation.
If you are unable to or prefer not to give online, you may write a check dated November 28, 2023, include “GivingTuesday” on the memo line, and mail it to Central Catholic High School at 2550 Cherry St., Toledo, OH 43608.
Or you may bring a check or cash to Central Catholic on November 28 to make your donation.
All donations made online November 28, via check dated November 28, or dropped off in person November 28 will be processed as GivingTuesday donations. A record of these donations will make Central Catholic eligible for additional grant funding from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation.
“As we honor the 50th anniversary of the Advent Pilgrimage, we humbly ask for your support,” said Head of School Kevin Parkins. “Your generosity helps CCHS impact students in amazing ways, and our pilgrimage is an extension of the transformational work that is happening in our campus ministry office each day. Your investment is transforming lives!”
“As we give thanks throughout the Thanksgiving and Advent season for the blessings that God has given us, we ask for your support for the next generation of students at Central Catholic,” added Eric Stockard, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “In honor of the gifts that CCHS provided you, we ask that you help us enhance the spiritual and educational foundation of our current students.”
For those interested in joining Central Catholic for the 50th Advent Pilgrimage, the walk begins at Central Catholic at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, with Mass at Noon at the Cathedral.
