Chad Huntebrinker has been named the new Dean of Students at Central Catholic High School, effective July 1. In this role, Huntebrinker will oversee student discipline, but more importantly, he will work to build community through developing relationships and communicating with students, parents, teachers and staff on a daily basis.

'We look forward to having Chad join our administrative team as Dean of Students,” said CCHS Head of School Kevin Parkins. “Chad is passionate about the students of CCHS, and we look forward to working with him to support our students.”

Huntebrinker is a 2000 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He has an associate degree from Owens Community College, a bachelor’s degree from The University of Toledo and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. He has been teaching geometry, personal money management, general business and accounting at CCHS for 15 years. Huntebrinker has also been the offensive line coach for the football team each of the last 14 years, helping the Fighting Irish secure a pair of state titles in 2012 and 2014. In addition, he was head coach for the CCHS Track & Field program for three years from 2016-18.

“My mom was a teacher and my dad coached soccer, and I grew up watching their love of impacting young people through teaching and coaching,” said Huntebrinker. “I knew I wanted to somehow do the same when I grew up. I also had so many teachers and coaches believe in me that I always felt the pull into the field of education.

“Central Catholic has always been in my life, and I couldn't wait to come back to teach and coach. I had a great experience as a student, making lifelong friends and being surrounded by great teachers and coaches. The best thing about working at Central Catholic is the people. On a daily basis, students from all walks of life come to school and learn much more than just what the teachers teach. Watching students from completely different backgrounds and home lives become lifelong friends is so rewarding and important for our city.”

Huntebrinker and his wife Tracy reside in Sylvania and have two sons, Mason (11) and Cole (6).
