Emilio Herrera Finishes 5th at Division II District Championship

Central Catholic sophomore wrestler Emilio Herrera placed 5th at the Division II District Championship on Saturday at Norwalk High School. Competing at 106 pounds, Herrera will now be an alternate for the State Tournament in Columbus.

Herrera posted a 4-2 record at the 2-day district event. Highlighting his 4 wins were a pinfall and a major decision.

Herrera was 1 of 4 CCHS grapplers to advance to districts, joining junior Austin Guerra (165 pounds), senior Andrew-Carter Price (175 pounds), and junior Mike Cannings II (285 pounds).

The State Tournament will take place on Friday-Sunday, March 10-12 at the Schottenstein Center.
