Football Trounces Fremont Ross in Regular Season Home Finale, 42-0

The Central Catholic football team blanked Fremont Ross, 42-0, on Friday in its regular-season home finale in Gallagher Stadium. With the shutout victory on "Senior Night," the Fighting Irish improve to 8-1 overall, 6-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

CCHS benefited from 3 TD passes by senior QB Ty'Waun Clark against the Little Giants (6-3, 3-3 TRAC) to secure at least a share of its 5th-consecutive TRAC championship. Two of Clark's TD tosses went to senior WR Durye'a Hall in the opening half. The classmates connected on scoring throws covering 21 and 60 yards, respectively. Clark, who also tallied an impressive 54-yard scoring run in the 2nd quarter, completed an efficient 8-of-11 passes for 123 yards.

In addition to Clark's outstanding efforts, senior RB Chris Edmonds posted a game-high 163 yards with 2 TDs. Edmonds was credited with 61- and 55-yard scoring bursts to help the Scarlet & Gray extend its league winning streak to 31-straight games. The 2021 1st-team All-TRAC honoree has now topped the century mark on the ground in each of the last 8 contests.

Central Catholic will close out its regular season against rival St. Francis de Sales (2-7, 1-5 TRAC) on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 pm in the Glass Bowl on the campus of The University of Toledo. Last fall, the Fighting Irish claimed a 49-7 home victory vs. the Knights. CCHS will look to register its 21st-consecutive win in the series and hold onto the Irish-Knight Trophy. Central Catholic has not lost to its rival since 2003.
