Four Central Catholic Student-Athletes Sign Letter of Intent on National Signing Day

Four Central Catholic student-athletes were recognized for their commitments to continue their education and football careers at the collegiate level on Wednesday in the Sullivan Center. The quartet of Brian Bishop, Ty’Waun Clark, Chris Edmonds, and Cody Schuberg signed respective National Letter of Intent this afternoon in front of family, friends, and teammates.

Bishop signed with The University of Toledo, Clark signed with Tiffin University, Edmonds signed with Bowling Green State University, and Schuberg signed with Carnegie Mellon University.

This group helped the Fighting Irish football team secure their 5th OHSAA state championship (1962, 2005, ‘12, ‘14, ‘22) in program history this past fall. CCHS finished with a 15-1 overall ledger and a perfect 7-0 mark in the TRAC, capturing its 5th-straight conference championship and ending with a 32-game league win streak in the TRAC’s final season.

With these 4 signings, a total of 7 student-athletes from the Class of 2023 have now signed an NLI. In the fall, boys’ basketball player Chico Johnson signed with Drake University, girls’ track & field sprinter Mary Ellis signed with the University of Findlay, and most recently football player Braden Awls signed with UToledo.
