4 Fighting Irish Softball Players Register All-District Laurels
A group of 4 Central Catholic softball players have been touted for their performances on the diamond with All-District postseason accolades.
Sophomore Ella Schuberg and sophomore Addison Brinkman were named Division II 2nd-team all-district, while senior Aliciana Martinez and freshman Makenzie Coleman garnered honorable mention honors.
This past spring, the Fighting Irish posted a 19-9 overall record, including an 8-7 ledger in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference’s final season. Individually, Brinkman and Schuberg were awarded spots on the 1st team, while Martinez and Coleman were tabbed to the 2nd team.
Schuberg hit .485 (49-for-101) with 33 runs scored, 1 home run, and 19 RBI. She also posted a 10-6 ledger with a 3.15 ERA in 113.1 innings on the mound, giving up 76 runs (51 earned runs) on 128 hits with 155 strikeouts.
Brinkman batted .430 (40-for-93) with 26 runs scored, 11 home runs, and 48 RBI. A 2-time 1st-team all-league honoree, she also tallied an 8-3 mark with a 3.54 ERA in 61.1 frames on the mound, surrendering 50 runs (31 earned runs) on 64 hits with 101 punchouts.
Martinez hit .433 (42-for-97) with 39 runs scored and 18 RBI.
Coleman batted .516 (48-for-93) with 31 runs scored, 2 home runs, and 32 RBI.
