Get to Know CCHS Staffulty Member - Carli Christenson

- What is your role at Central Catholic? |
I am the new graphic designer and the yearbook teacher.  I create most of the graphics you see on our social media pages, design marketing materials, and help with photography around the school.  I am also the Anime Club moderator.  Starting in the 2nd semester, I will be teaching the graphic design class as well.

- What is your educational background?
I graduated from Bowling Green State University in the fall of 2022 with a Bachelor’s of Science in technology.  I majored in visual communication technology (VCT) with specializations in photography, videography, and graphic design for print.  I also graduated with an honors diploma from Maumee High School in 2019.

- What did you do before joining the CCHS staffulty?
I spent a lot of time with corporate marketing through internships, and I dabbled with freelancing shortly after graduation.  I was also called to use my skills to help my church with their presence on social media and within our community.  All of this has helped me gain experience to continue growing in my career!

- What made you want to work at Central Catholic?
Growing up, I had always heard from family and friends about how great Central Catholic is.  When I noticed that CCHS had an opening for a graphic designer, I decided to throw my hat in the ring!  Now I'm using my skills to help my students put together the Centripetal, as well as helping move our marketing and communication efforts forward.

- What do you hope to accomplish in your role at CCHS?
I want to continue creating amazing graphics to take our social media and marketing efforts to the next level.  I can tell my efforts are already paying off, and it's encouraging to see a creative vision bring a message to life.  I also want to use my skills to help students be successful with graphic design, communications, and project management.  The yearbook class is a great example where I've been able to teach my students these crucial skills that go into creating something that will last a lifetime.

- What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love to express myself through my hobbies.  Whether it's creative writing and art, or playing my violin with friends, I've always got an outlet to continue improving my skills in a fun way!  My family also means a lot to me, so I love to spend time with them when we have time through our busy schedules.
