Girls’ Basketball Defeats TRAC Foe Findlay, 59-49

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team posted a 59-49 victory against Findlay on Friday in the Findlay HS Gymnasium. With the double-digit road win, the Fighting Irish improve to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

Senior Jai’Lynne Hitt-Swartz and junior Brooklyn Vaughn scored 15 points each to lead a balanced CCHS attack vs. the Trojans.

Junior Corniya Clay added 11 points and senior Mary Ellis contributed 10 to help the Fighting Irish remain unbeaten in league play.

Sophia Myers paced host Findlay with 13 points and Aleksyss Arredondo had 12.

Early in the evening, the CCHS freshman squad defeated Findlay, 45-17, while the junior varsity secured a 36-30 triumph.

Central Catholic return to the hardwood against Fremont Ross on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 pm in the newly remodeled Sullivan Center.
