Girls’ Basketball Demolishes TRAC Rival St. Ursula Academy, 55-29
The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team remained in sole possession of first place in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference following an impressive 55-29 victory against St. Ursula Academy on Thursday in the Field House. With the dominating road win, the Fighting Irish improve to 16-0 overall, 10-0 in the TRAC.
CCHS held host SUA to only five points in the second half to remain unbeaten.
Sophomore Brooklyn Vaughn tallied a game-high 18 points to lead the Scarlet & Gray, while classmate Emily Baer had 11.
Julia Reichert led the Arrows with nine points.
Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity dropped a 38-34 decision vs. SUA.
Central Catholic will return to the hardwood against Oregon Clay on Monday, Jan. 31. The junior varsity game will begin at 5 pm in the Sullivan Center, followed by the varsity contest at 6:30 pm. Back on Dec. 16, the Fighting Irish secured a 57-17 road win vs. the Eagles. Tickets are available at centralcatholic.org/tickets.
