Girls’ Basketball Drops 63-46 Decision vs. Father Gabriel Richard on Road

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team dropped a 63-46 decision against Father Gabriel Richard on Saturday. With the road loss, the Fighting Irish fall to 7-5 overall, 4-1 in the Catholic High School League.

The Irish outscored CCHS 32-20 in the 1st half to take control of the matchup, handing the Scarlet & Gray its 1st conference loss.

Senior Brooklyn Vaughn paced Central Catholic with 19 points, while classmate Corniya Clay contributed 10 points.

Father Gabriel Richard was led by Charlotte Miller and Ava Rodriguez with 20 and 18 points, respectively. The duo combined for 6 triples, including 4 in the pivotal 1st half.

Earlier in the afternoon, the CCHS junior varsity squad defeated FGR, 28-15.

Central Catholic will return to the court against Marian on Wednesday, January 24 at 7:15 p.m. in the Sullivan Center.
